Andreas Edström had written a film score (under the name Strewphoria Galaxy) and wanted to make an animated slideshow to accompany it, which he asked me to help him with.
Edström provided most of the images used, as well as doing all the image editing and isolating of all the elements. My job was to do (the technical side of) the animations and compositing. Most of the animations were planned out before I joined the project and were “simple” 2D transformations of several layers to give the illusion of perspective change (we also added some distortion etc). The exception to this was the third (Leaving it all behind) and ninth (Dying star chaos part) tracks, where I created an earth (with a simple cloud animation and day/night effect) and then a worm hole effect (using images already available in the project).
All animation and compositing was done with Blender 2.79 (with the “Blender Render” and built-in compositor).
The project premiered at Folkan, the local movie theatre, in Lidköping on the 30th of November 2018.
